Hydrogen Service Valve Selection
Hydrogen service requires review of leakage, material compatibility, pressure, temperature, cycling, valve cavity behavior and the sealing system rather than simply choosing a standard valve with a hydrogen label.
High-pressure or high-cycle hydrogen applications may place additional demands on stem sealing, seat materials, hardfacing, actuation and inspection depending on the project specification.
A hydrogen-valve RFQ should state gas purity, pressure cases, temperature range, cycling, leakage acceptance and any material or qualification requirements defined by the end user.
