PEEK is used as a high-performance thermoplastic seat material where higher mechanical strength and temperature capability are required than common PTFE-based seats can provide.
Seat geometry, pressure differential, temperature, fluid compatibility, decompression behavior and surface finish still control performance even when PEEK is the selected polymer.
A PEEK-seat inquiry should include the full design conditions and expected cycling so the valve manufacturer can check seat loading, torque and sealing behavior.
