Slurry Knife Gate Valve Selection Guide
Slurry service should be described by solids concentration, particle size and hardness, velocity, settling tendency, pressure differential and cycling because these factors control wear and required gate thrust.
Body flushing, replaceable wear parts, metal or resilient seating, packing protection and actuator sizing can be more important than the nominal pressure class in abrasive duty.
Mining and tailings applications should also define line orientation, maintenance access and whether the valve must isolate after solids have settled around the gate.
