What Does WCB Mean in Valves?

WCB refers to ASTM A216 Grade WCB, a cast carbon-steel material widely used for valve and fitting pressure boundaries in many industrial services.

The material designation alone does not define the complete valve; trim, seats, bolting, pressure class, design temperature, corrosion allowance and the applicable product standard still need to be specified.

When an RFQ calls for a WCB valve, include the required trim and service conditions so the quotation does not assume a generic internal material combination.
